Is it really possible to reduce stress and anxiety just by relaxing and listening to the hypnotherapist’s voice?
Every one of us has to deal with stress, it is a part of our everyday life. Each of us responds to stress in a different way. How we deal with stress has an impact on the quality of our life and our state of health.
As an example, one unhelpful and quite common reactions to stress is eating. Stress affects our relationship with food.
“You are the zebra running for your life, don’t think about lunch. That’s the reason why we lose our appetites when we are stressed. Except for those of us who, when stressed, eat everything in sight in a mindless mechanical way. And those who claim they’re not hungry, are too stressed to eat a thing, and just happen to nibble 3000 calories worth of food a day. And those of us who really can’t eat a thing. Except for chocolate-chocolate chip hot fudge sundaes. With whipped cream and nuts. The official numbers are that stress makes about two-thirds of people eating more.”
‘Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers’, Robert M. Sapolsky
While you may not be able to change the world, you can change your reaction to it!
Many of us we think we know what stress is, yet still it affects us… and it can be difficult to find out what the causes are.
There are many treatments and techniques that you can implement for stress management. One of them is hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis. Hypnosis is known to be a powerful stress reduction tool.
But why?
Hypnosis is a state of a deep relaxation. My client’s describe it as a much deeper relaxation than during meditation sessions. Quite often they would like the session to last longer, it feels so good. During the hypnotherapy session you separate yourself from everyday preoccupation. You relax your muscles and let go of the tension in your body and mind.
Moreover, during the hypnotherapy process we can identify the causes of stress and deal with them. This is where the real healing process takes place. If there were any events in the past, we may deal with them, so they don’t influence your everyday life anymore. It is possible, because you are in an altered state of consciousness and you bypass your critical and defensive mind.
Through learning self-hypnosis and creating your safe place you gain a skill for life. You can use it whenever you need, it’s easy and safe.
When you learn to relax both physically and mentally, you can find that your energy levels increase dramatically, your attitude towards your life changes and you simply act differently.
Hypnotherapy might help you relax and if necessary to deal with the possible causes of your anxiety and stress.
